YAAR Session - Friendship Day

The monthly Young Adult Autistic Recreation (YAAR) sessions conducted by Autism Society of West Bengal is a refreshing

session wherein a friendly, companionable environment is created for persons with autism spectrum disorder.

The theme for this July YAAR session was Monsoon Celebration and Friendship Day, during which a sequence of interactive events took place. The session started with everyone present introducing themselves. Thereafter we had a short session of games, followed by an interesting activity in which all the participants had to write experiences, like what they like about monsoon, on paper boats, which were then floated on water.

Finally, Rotaractors exchanged friendship bands with each of the members, and the session came to an end with some refreshments, followed by a music and dance session. Thus, the acronym “YAAR”, meaning “friend”, never held more significance, as we celebrated this Friendship Day with our very special friends.
